SANSAR is launching its Risk Management Program again in the spring of 2019. This program gives South Asian adults in the Greater Toronto Area an opportunity to attend free group classes that provide education on heart disease and diabetes prevention and management.
We are seeking an experienced Dietitian with a South Asian background to facilitate group education classes. These classes will focus on how to make South Asian cooking healthier and how to make heart-healthy food choices. The classes will be facilitated in English; however, the ability to speak a South Asian language is preferred.
Students will be enrolled through SANSAR’s South Asian Cardiovascular Risk Assessment Clinic, which screens individuals for early detection and prevention of heart disease and diabetes. The classes will take place in the SANSAR office building, at 3 Conestoga Drive in Brampton, Ontario.

This Risk Management Program is the first initiative of its kind, providing a much-needed and crucial service to this community. By offering a culturally-tailored and ethnically-sensitive education experience, we hope that South Asian adults are able to walk away with tools and support they need to make healthy lifestyle changes in their own lives.
