Food provides the body with the nutrition and energy it needs to grow, stay healthy and function well. A healthy lifestyle (i.e. healthy diet and exercise) can help maintain a good body weight, blood pressure, cholesterol and protect you against heart disease and diabetes.
It is cheaper and healthier to eat home cooked meals. Outside meals can increase your risk of obesity. Eating at regular intervals (i.e. 3 main meals and a snack) helps to fuel your body and stops overeating. Skipping meals has shown to increase weight gain, which is a major risk factor for diabetes and heart disease.
